Football Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Northwest extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 2-7. They were outmatched by the Kirkwood Cobras and fell 35-0. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Cobras are ranked 69th).

As for Kirkwood, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.3 points on average over those games.

Kirkwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Daly led the charge by rushing for 81 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries. Those 81 rushing yards gave Daly a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Miles Reding, who threw for 191 yards and one TD on only 14 passes.
