Baseball Game Preview: Indian River Wolves vs. Beaver River Beavers

For the second straight game, Indian River will face off against Beaver River. The Wolves will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Beavers at 6:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Indian River has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Beaver River will arrive with three straight victories.

Indian River fell victim to Beaver River and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 8-0 to the Beavers.

For Beaver River's part, Carter Rice made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Rice a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Kade Schneider was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Kayne Lyndaker was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

Beaver River's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Indian River, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
