Basketball Recap: Make It 17 in a Row for Poly

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Poly walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Bernstein Dragons on Thursday as they made off with a 75-51 win. The Parrots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Poly had a senior duo take command as Quian Khawaja posted 29 points and JD Wyatt put up 27 points. The game was Wyatt's 40th in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Lara, who scored ten points.

The victory was the 17th in a row for Poly, bringing their record for this year to 25-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.2 points over those games. As for Bernstein, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 17 games and leaves them with a 27-3 record.

Coming up, Poly will take on Granada Hills Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bernstein does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
