Volleyball Recap: Lone Star Rangers vs. McKinney Lions
Lone Star gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the McKinney Lions. For the Rangers, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.
Lone Star walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-11, 24-26, 25-19.
Lone Star's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaitlyn Smith, who had 21 assists and five digs. Kylie Hough was another key player, getting 13 digs and two aces.

Lone Star was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.
McKinney lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Madison Jones, who had 16 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season.
