Softball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Salpointe Catholic's 16th in Last 20 Outings

Salpointe Catholic's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Douglas Bulldogs a 4-0 shutout. The Lancers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Not much got past Macee Jackson, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Douglas off the board. Jackson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sarah Camp was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Molli Daley, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Salpointe Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Douglas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-8.

As of now, neither Salpointe Catholic nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
