Basketball Recap: Luke Felsen Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

Winters won the last time they faced East Nicolaus and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Winters Warriors walked away with a 60-51 win over the East Nicolaus Spartans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Winters' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luke Felsen led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Brown, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards.

East Nicolaus' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Reed, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. That's the most points Reed has posted since back in December of 2024. Wade Lauppe was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Winters' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points over those games. As for East Nicolaus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Winters has already played their next contest, a 51-41 win against Paradise on the 31st. As for East Nicolaus, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 43-37 victory against Colusa on the 31st.
