Baseball Recap: Smyrna Comes Up Short

Sunday just wasn't the day for Smyrna's offense. They came up short against the Conrad Science Red Wolves on Sunday, falling 10-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 20, 2024.

Smyrna saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Oakley, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Oakley snagged this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Smyrna and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Conrad Science, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Looking ahead, Smyrna will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Laurel at 4:15 p.m. As for Conrad Science, they will head out to face off against St. Elizabeth at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
