Baseball Recap: Buckeye Comes Up Short

Buckeye was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Youngker Roughriders, falling 11-2. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 19-1 to the Roughriders when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Buckeye saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mayco Morales, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Morales also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Buckeye's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Youngker, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-5.

We've got a battle between Hawks coming up. Buckeye's pitchers better be ready for this one: Rio Rico has averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Youngker, they will take on Desert Edge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
