Volleyball Recap: Salem Takes a Loss

Salem extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-12. They lost 3-0 to the Kempsville Chiefs. Sundevils fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Chiefs since Thursday.

As for Kempsville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 9th (when they won 3-0).

Kempsville can attribute much of their success to Madison Myers, who had four aces. Those four aces gave Myers a new career-high. Shaenelys Vega Caraballo also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Salem will square off against rival Landstown at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kempsville is set to face off against their familiar foe Princess Anne at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
