Westland suffers 16th straight loss at home

Recap: Westland Cougars vs. Lincoln Golden Lions
The Westland Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Lincoln 83-53. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Westland in their matchups with Lincoln: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Franklin Tejada, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Tejada scored 15 or more points. Breaker Heller Jr. was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight assists and four steals.
Westland's loss was their 16th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Lincoln, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Westland won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hamilton Township at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for Lincoln, they will be playing at home against New Albany at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. New Albany will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
