Volleyball Recap: Mount St. Mary Academy Comes Up Short

Mount St. Mary Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the St. Mary's Lancers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Mount St. Mary Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-9, 25-22.

Mikayla Gullo paced Mount St. Mary Academy's offense, picking up three kills. Gullo got some help from Claire Gaulin and her seven assists.

St. Mary's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sarina Notaro, who had 16 digs and one assist.

Mount St. Mary Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10-1. As for St. Mary's, they pushed their record up to 22-0-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Mount St. Mary Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Cardinal O'Hara on the 3rd. As for St. Mary's, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Our Lady of Mercy on the 3rd.
