Basketball Recap: Wellsville Takes a Loss

Wellsville suffered their biggest defeat since February 10, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 54-30 to the Otto-Eldred Terrors. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Otto-Eldred was led to victory by Ayla Van Scoter and Baylee Francis. Van Scoter went 7 for 15 on her way to 20 points and five boards, while Francis went 5 of 7 en route to 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Van Scoter a new career-high in points. Carrie Drummond was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Wellsville's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Otto-Eldred, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellsville will face off against Canisteo-Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Otto-Eldred, they will square off against Cameron County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
