Recap: Mead Mavericks vs. Silver Creek Raptors

Make it four blowout wins for the Mead Mavericks this season. They blew past Silver Creek 60-16 on the road. Given Mead's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Silver Creek is ranked 147th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mead's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gianna Wurth led the charge by scoring nine points along with four steals. Elena Gomez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Mead's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Silver Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Mead will be playing in front of their home fans against Centaurus at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Centaurus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Thursday. As for Silver Creek, they will head out on the road to take on Windsor at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Windsor will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
