Soccer Game Preview: Garland vs. Lakeview Centennial

The Garland Owls will face off against the Lakeview Centennial Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Garland came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Wylie, falling 7-0. The Owls' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Lakeview Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Rowlett. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 587th, while the Eagles are ranked 227th).

Garland's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Lakeview Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Garland took their win against Lakeview Centennial in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 3-0. Will Garland repeat their success, or does Lakeview Centennial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
