Basketball Game Preview: Ridgeline Falcons vs. Cheney Blackhawks

The Ridgeline Falcons will head out to take on the Cheney Blackhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ridgeline has 15 straight wins, Cheney has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Ridgeline will head into Friday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 33-point drubbing they dealt University on Friday. Ridgeline claimed a resounding 69-36 victory over University. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 27 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 72-23, which was the final score in Cheney's tilt against Central Valley on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Blackhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Bears are ranked fourth).

Cheney's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Ridgeline, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Ridgeline took their victory against Cheney in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 49-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ridgeline since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
