Basketball Recap: Cass Comes Up Short

Cass was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-59 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hiram Hornets. The Colonels were probably out for revenge after losing 50-40 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hiram's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Crawford, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Damariah Windmon, who posted 19 points.

Cass' defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Hiram, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.

Cass will take on Allatoona at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hiram, they will welcome Dalton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dalton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Hiram likes a good challenge.
