Softball Recap: Ballard Has No Trouble Against Pleasure Ridge Park

Ballard owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They blew past the Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers 9-0. Considering the Bruins have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Ballard let Aubrie Newton and Matilda Gorley run wild. Newton scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Gorley scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Gorley a new career-high in doubles (two). Emery Schuster was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Ballard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasure Ridge Park only posted a batting average of .125.

Ballard now has a winning record of 9-8-1. As for Pleasure Ridge Park, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Ballard will square off against Male at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Bruins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pleasure Ridge Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
