Softball Recap: West Campus Extends Winning Streak to Three

West Campus waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Fairfield Falcons.

Analisa Mederos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Moriah Williams was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Quiroz, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

West Campus' victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Fairfield, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Campus will host Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Valley has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 23 runs per game on average), something West Campus will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fairfield, they will welcome Burbank at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Burbank has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 28.25 runs per game on average), something Fairfield will no doubt try to take advantage of.
