Softball Recap: Cedar Hill Comes Up Short

Cedar Hill lost to Mesquite back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Longhorns fell 5-1 to the Skeeters.

Lily Williams put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases and one run.

Cedar Hill's record now sits at 13-15. As for Mesquite, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8-1 record this season.

Cedar Hill will face off against Waxahachie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Longhorns will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven contests. As for Mesquite, they will challenge Skyline at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.33 runs per game on average), something the Skeeters will no doubt try to take advantage of.
