Baseball Recap: West Mesa Mustangs vs. Del Norte Knights
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Mesa). They put the hurt on the Del Norte Knights with a sharp 22-3 victory on Tuesday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Armoni Baca made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Baca was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for West Mesa: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise.
