Softball Recap: Notre Dame Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Friday. Notre Dame came out on top against Terra Nova by a score of 6-2. The win continues a trend for Notre Dame in their matchups with Terra Nova: they've now won three in a row.

Hailey Truong was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Juliette Ramirez, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Truong wasn't the only one making solid contact: Notre Dame kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Terra Nova only managed four hits.

Notre Dame's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Terra Nova, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Coming up, Notre Dame will take on Wilcox in a tournament on Saturday. As for Terra Nova, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sequoia at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th.
