Softball Recap: Kearns Gets the Win

Kearns won the last time they faced Granger and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Kearns Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Granger Lancers. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Stephani Serna, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Kearns was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Granger only posted a batting average of .345.

Kearns now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Granger, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Kearns will be taking part in a tournament against Delta at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Granger, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Timpanogos at 3:30 p.m.
