Softball Recap: Fairview Comes Up Short

Fairview extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Monday, dropping them down to 0-3. They came up short against the Parkway Panthers, falling 10-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Apaches of the 8-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Fairview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Coolman, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

As for Parkway, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.

On Parkway's side, Brittyn Bruns made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bruns has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Madelyn Stover was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. KJae Stover was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Looking ahead, Fairview will head out on the road to square off against Wauseon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Parkway, they will welcome Lincolnview at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 0.7, the Lancers 0.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
