Baseball Game Preview: Serrano Diamondbacks vs. Hesperia Scorpions

For the second straight game, Serrano will face off against Hesperia. The Diamondbacks will challenge the Scorpions at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Serrano has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 27.

Serrano is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Hesperia on Tuesday, falling 20-9. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 6, 2023, but that streak is no more.

For Hesperia's part, they got a massive performance out of Tristen Vanpool, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave Vanpool a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Michael Tobias, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Hesperia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .620. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Hesperia and bumps their season record up to 10-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Serrano, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
