Volleyball Recap: Jersee Fabrizius' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ellis over Plainville

Ellis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Plainville Cardinals. The Railroaders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Ellis started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-16, 25-21.

Several Railroaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jersee Fabrizius, who had 11 digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Taylor Kohl, who had 29 assists and 21 digs.

Ellis' defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Plainville, they pushed their record up to 9-17 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Ellis has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Trego on the 7th. As for Plainville, they will square off against Russell on Saturday.
