Football Recap: Jackson Falls to Saraland in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Jackson unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 17-6 to the Saraland Spartans on Friday. If the Aggies were looking for revenge after losing 35-27 to the Spartans when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

A big part of Saraland's victory came down to the chemistry between Jamison Roberts and his top target Deshawn Spencer. Roberts threw for 203 yards and a pair of TDs while Spencer gained 144 total yards and a touchdown. What's more, Roberts posted two passing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

Jackson and Saraland should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Aggies will take on Demopolis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (9 vs. 78). Meanwhile, Saraland (ranked fifth) will meet Blount (ranked 121st) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
