Softball Recap: Calallen Takes Down Fredericksburg in a Playoff Battle

Calallen had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Fredericksburg Billies on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Jordyn Thibodeaux spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brookelynn Meador was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelyn Bailey, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Calallen's victory bumped their record up to 31-5. As for Fredericksburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 25-11.

Calallen wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Liberty on the 21st. Fredericksburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
