Basketball Game Preview: KIPP P Pride vs. Northwest Halifax Vikings

The KIPP P Pride will head out on the road to challenge the Northwest Halifax Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. KIPP P comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

KIPP P is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Rocky Mount Prep on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. KIPP P was dealt a 50-9 defeat at the hands of Rocky Mount Prep. The Pride were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-2.

Meanwhile, Northwest Halifax hadn't done well against North Edgecombe recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Northwest Halifax walked away with a 62-55 victory over North Edgecombe. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Northwest Halifax's win came from a few key players KIPP P will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alyssia Patterson, who posted 21 points. Those 21 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keyara Rook, who had 18 points.

KIPP P's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Northwest Halifax, their record is now 8-10.

KIPP P was dealt a bruising 68-10 defeat at the hands of Northwest Halifax when the teams last played two weeks ago. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point KIPP P was down 36-6.
