Bethune and Flagler are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Bobcats will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bethune has given up an average of 53.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bethune is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Pikes Peak Christian on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Bobcats had to suffer through a 77-36 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-17.

Bethune's defeat came about despite a quality game from Josh Salinas, who went 7-for-17 to rack up 21 points. The contest was Salinas' fifth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Orona, who posted five points.
Meanwhile, Flagler came up short against Stratton on Tuesday, falling 72-46. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 288th, while the Eagles are ranked 87th).
Bethune will need to focus on slowing down Owen Brent, one of several Flagler players who made an impact when they last played. He put up eight points. Brent is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Adria Castells was another key player, putting up ten points and eight steals.
Bethune's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Flagler, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Bethune has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 23.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Flagler struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Bethune didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Flagler when the teams last played back in February of 2025, but they still walked away with a 55-51 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Panthers' Brayden Hill, who earned 21 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Bobcats still be able to contain Hill? There's only one way to find out.
