Softball Recap: Greenback Wins Going Away Against Rockwood

Greenback's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Rockwood Tigers with a sharp 24-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cherokees in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won nine in a row.

Greenback got a massive performance out of Elizabeth Davis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave Davis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Anderson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI.

The win got Greenback back to even at 1-1. As for Rockwood, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Greenback didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-2 loss against Monterey on the 21st. As for Rockwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-0 defeat against Oakdale on the 24th.
