The Baldwin Indians will take on the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Baldwin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Baldwin didn't have quite enough to beat Sandalwood and fell 6-5. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Saints: they've now lost four in a row.

Baldwin saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Macik, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Drew Harmon also deserves some recognition as he stolen his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Thomas County Central's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Thomasville a 14-0 shutout. Fans of the Yellow Jackets have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Dom McCann was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI. Another player making a difference was Zach Williams, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Baldwin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Thomas County Central, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Baldwin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Thomas County Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts.
