Recap: Mountain View Bruins vs. Dixie Flyers
The Mountain View Bruins lost against the Dixie Flyers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Mountain View received a tough blow as they fell 71-54 to Dixie. While losing is never fun, Mountain View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Dixie is ranked sixth).
When it comes to explaining why Mountain View lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bryce Mella. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points. Mella set a new season high mark in steals with two. Daniel Hair was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dixie to victory, but perhaps none more so than Breckon Robinson, who scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 assists.
Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Dixie, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Mountain View won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Snow Canyon at 1:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully Snow Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Dixie, they will take on Westlake at 3:10 p.m. on Thursday.
