Volleyball Recap: Cedar Springs Red Hawks vs. Kenowa Hills Knights

Cedar Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kenowa Hills Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Cedar Springs actually scored more points across those three sets (61-58), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 26-24, 17-25, 15-12.

Taylor Gunderson paced Cedar Springs' offense, picking up 11 kills. Gunderson got some help from Jessie Teesdale and her 19 assists. Kendall Fisk controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Cedar Springs' loss dropped their record down to 8-25-3. As for Kenowa Hills, the victory snapped their losing streak at five matches and leaves them with a 4-18 record.

Coming up, Cedar Springs will take on Wayland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kenowa Hills has already played their next contest (against Sparta), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
