After a string of four wins, the Greenville Christian Academy Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gospel Light Christian.
Greenville Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ellie Eisses, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Imogen Rawls, who scored 17 points.
Gospel Light Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maggie Jo Church, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Ali Phillips was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Greenville Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Gospel Light Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.
Greenville Christian Academy will take on Tournament Team at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tournament Team is coming into the matchup with four straight defeats on the road, meaning Greenville Christian Academy will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Gospel Light Christian, they and Westwood Baptist Academy will face off at 9:00 a.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Gospel Light Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday.
