Basketball Recap: Omaha Northwest Starts off Right with Win over Fremont

Omaha Northwest took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Fremont Tigers by a score of 48-40. This was payback for the Huskies, who suffered a 52-44 loss the last time these two teams met.

Omaha Northwest was led to victory by Michael Dubose and Xavier Bonner. Dubose went 6-for-14 to rack up 14 points, while Bonner posted 11 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Bonner has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawayne Kearney, who scored eight points.

Looking ahead, Omaha Northwest will face off against Westview at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Fremont, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lincoln High on the 13th.
