Baseball Recap: South Albany Comes Up Short

South Albany was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hillsboro Spartans. Even if the Redhawks couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

South Albany's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Hillsboro, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Albany will challenge Newberg at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Redhawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hillsboro, they will square off against Oregon City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
