Softball Recap: Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna Comes Up Short

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-13 in the process. They lost 16-0 to the Liberty Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 on Tuesday.

As for Liberty, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-3. Considering they have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Liberty's part, Jordyn Jeske made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Jeske has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 11 contests.

In other batting news, Sadie Stout and Aubrey Hofmann did most of the damage at the plate: Stout fired off two home runs, three stolen bases, and five RBI while going 3-for-5, while Hofmann went 4-for-5 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. That's the most hits Hofmann has posted since back in March of 2024. Lillie Unruh was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Coming up, Liberty will head out to take on Northwest Christian School at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna will be paying especially close attention to the Lancers' game: after the Lancers face off against Freeman, they'll take on Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna again at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
