Grants took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Miyamura Patriots, sneaking past 7-6. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 13-0 victory the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2025.
The team relied heavily on Annora Graham, who fired off two home runs, two stolen bases, and three runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Chavez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Looking ahead, Grants will host Gallup at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Miyamura, they are taking a road trip to square off against Navajo Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
