Softball Recap: Leland Falls to Scotts Valley in First Game of Season

Leland unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Scotts Valley Falcons on Tuesday, falling 12-3. The Chargers were not able to make up for their loss to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in March of 2022.

Lily O'Hanneson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Scotts Valley pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Leland didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-3 victory against Saratoga on the 13th. As for Scotts Valley, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Scotts Valley Falcons face off against Everett Alvarez Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on March 18th.
