Basketball Recap: Serena Comes Up Short

If Serena was feeling good fresh off their 71-13 takedown of Indian Creek last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Serena Huskers fell to the Seneca Fighting Irish 45-40. The Huskers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Fighting Irish earlier this season, when they won 23-20.

Serena has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. As for Seneca, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Serena won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Marquette at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marquette will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Serena surely won't give up without a fight. As for Seneca, they will look to defend their home court on December 26th against Walther Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m.
