Basketball Game Preview: Santa Rita Eagles vs. Flowing Wells Caballeros

Having just played yesterday, the Santa Rita Eagles will jump right back in to play the Flowing Wells Caballeros at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Santa Rita took on Rio Rico on Wednesday. Santa Rita took a 64-46 bruising from Rio Rico. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Flowing Wells was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 68-41 loss at the hands of Ironwood Ridge. The Caballeros were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-13.

Santa Rita's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Flowing Wells, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Santa Rita lost to Flowing Wells on the road by a decisive 75-58 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2016. Thankfully for Santa Rita, Jordan Behrend (who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
