Baseball Recap: Palestine-Wheatley Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

Palestine-Wheatley's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the DeWitt Dragons a 1-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Dragons back in March, they had to take a 6-4 defeat.

Haygan Henry tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Palestine-Wheatley has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for DeWitt, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7.

Palestine-Wheatley and DeWitt should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Arkansas Rankings. The Patriots will square off against Hazen at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (79 vs. 207). Meanwhile, DeWitt (ranked 75th) will meet Dumas (ranked 229th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
