Desert Mountain dropped their record down to 12-15 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Horizon Huskies. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Wolves who fell 6-4 when the teams previously met back in April of 2024.
Desert Mountain saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Benson, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
As for Horizon, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games.
On Horizon's side, they got a great performance from Connor McDonald as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Chris Quigg, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jackson Weber, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
