Centennial won against Paxton-Buckley-Loda last Monday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Centennial walked away with a 10-5 win over the St. Thomas More Sabers. With that victory, the Chargers brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Jake Miller was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He also put up a hit, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tate Sauer, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Centennial and bumps their season record up to 2-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing nine strikeouts in those games compared to only 3.67 in the others. As for St. Thomas More, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Centennial will take on Monticello at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Thomas More, they will face off against Urbana at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
