Softball Recap: Monroe Township Has No Trouble Against Princeton

Monroe Township barely beat Princeton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons blew past the Tigers 14-2 on Monday. The game marked the Falcons' most dominant win of the season.

Lily Holeman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Holeman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabella Rubino, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Kaitlyn Ventura was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI.

Monroe Township was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Monroe Township's record now sits at 4-6. As for Princeton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Monroe Township will be playing at home against Old Bridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Princeton, they will head out on the road to challenge Somerville at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
