Softball Game Preview: Mountain Island Charter Raptors vs. Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers

The Mountain Island Charter Raptors will venture away from home to square off against the Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Mountain Island Charter nor Legion Collegiate Academy posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Mountain Island Charter came up short against Charlotte Latin on Thursday, falling 14-2.

Bella Bergman was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Harleigh Reece, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Legion Collegiate Academy came up short against Marvin Ridge on Wednesday and fell 4-1. The Lancers haven't had much luck with the Mavericks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Amelia Mason put in work no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Mason was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Mason wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Macie Tillman, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Legion Collegiate Academy fell to 1-1-1. As for Mountain Island Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
