Basketball Recap: Pensacola Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Pensacola Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 52-44 to the Baker Gators. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-38 back in December of 2024.

It was another big night for AJ Chilton, who posted 16 points for Baker. Another player making a difference was Riley Renfro, who had nine points.

Pensacola Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Baker, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Pensacola Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Laurel Hill at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Laurel Hill will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Pensacola Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Baker, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Destin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Baker is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season.
