Basketball Recap: Murrah Takes a Loss

Murrah lost against Tupelo on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Murrah Mustangs took a 55-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tupelo Golden Wave. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Golden Wave are ranked tenth).

Murrah's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Tupelo, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Murrah has already played their next contest (against Clinton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tupelo will venture away from home to challenge Germantown at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Tupelo is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
