Basketball Recap: Andrew Jackson Starts off Right with Win over Fletcher

Andrew Jackson had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Fletcher Senators by a score of 35-27 on Monday. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Senators, too.

Andrew Jackson was led to victory by Madison Holmes-Price and Jordan Ferguson. Holmes-Price posted eight points, while Ferguson put up seven points. Those seven points gave Ferguson a new career-high.

Fletcher lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brylee Rains, who had seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maria Lopes, who earned eight points and nine rebounds.

Andrew Jackson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 45-12 victory against Riverside on the 18th. As for Fletcher, they will square off against Bartram Trail at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
