Basketball Recap: Emerald Extends Winning Streak to Three

Crescent came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Emerald, but Damarquis Hopkins wouldn't allow it. The Emerald Vikings blew past the Crescent Tigers 65-38 on Saturday thanks in part to Hopkins, who almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine boards. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

The victory was the third in a row for Emerald, bringing their record for this year to 6-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Crescent, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Emerald and Greenwood will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Emerald has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 205 points over their last three contests. As for Crescent, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Crescent Tigers take on the Ninety Six Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
